Originally from Lorangau, Manus Province, Kenai Yaru graduated from the Faculty of Creative Arts (FCA) at the University of Papua New Guinea with a specialization in Fine Arts – Textiles. Throughout his career, he has developed and refined a diverse range of Papua New Guinea-inspired cultural designs, creating unique textile works that are both visually striking and culturally meaningful.
As a Senior Textile Design Artist at the Centre for Arts & Innovation (CAI), Kenai specializes in custom textile printing, fabric design, tie-dye techniques, and creative textile production. He is also passionate about teaching and mentoring aspiring artists, sharing his expertise and experience to help nurture the next generation of creative talent in Papua New Guinea.
